Pop Rocks the Cavern: IPO Festival Spotlights Think Like A Key Music in Liverpool
In a convergence of pop history and cutting-edge talent, the International Pop Overthrow (IPO) festival is set to turn Liverpool's iconic Cavern Club into a hotbed of global indie pop. The festival's grand finale? A two-day showcase from Think Like A Key Music that promises to be a pop aficionado's dream.
Where Beatles Walked, Pop Stars Will Play
On June 3rd and 4th, the hallowed grounds that once echoed with the sounds of the Fab Four will host a diverse lineup of international artists. The Think Like A Key Music Label Showcase will cap off IPO's week-long celebration of power chords and catchy choruses, bringing together acts from Spain, the USA, and the UK.
"It's like a United Nations of pop," jokes David Bash, IPO's founder. "Except instead of speeches, we've got killer hooks and harmonies."
A Pop Pilgrimage 22 Years in the Making
IPO isn't just any festival. Born in Los Angeles over two decades ago, it's grown into a global phenomenon, touching down in cities across North America, Europe, and the UK. Now, it's bringing its indie spirit to the birthplace of British rock.
The Lineup: From Miami to Manchester
The showcase is a who's who of Think Like A Key's roster:

- 9:00 pm - Pablo Solo
- 9:45 pm - Jim Camacho

Sunday, June 4th at Cavern Club:

UK Debuts and Homecomings
For Spain's Pablo Solo and America's Ex Norwegian, it's a UK debut. For Manchester's own The Be Positives, fresh off their sophomore album, it's a hometown throwdown. And The Know Escape? They're riding high on buzz from their collaboration with Kaleidoscope's Peter Daltrey.
Miami's Jim Camacho is pulling double duty, performing solo and sitting in with other acts. He'll be joined by special guest Fernando Perdomo, reuniting a trio (with Ex Norwegian) that last shared a stage at IPO New York in 2010.
More Than Just Music
This isn't just a series of gigs - it's a pop cultural exchange. "We're creating connections," says Roger Houdaille of Think Like A Key Music. "Between artists, between fans, between past and present."
Indeed, the lineup is a testament to IPO's community-building power. Pablo Solo returns after a previous appearance with The Puzzles. Kevin Robertson of the Vapour Trails, who guested on Ex Norwegian's "Sing Jimmy Campbell" album, will also perform during the festival. And keep an ear out for Nick Frater, with his future album coming out on the label, has two sets during the week.
